This is is an exciting time for the Voyager Academy as it is relaunched as Queen Katharine Academy in September 2017, offering another platform for the school to continue its journey of improvement.


The Role

We have a very exciting opportunity for a dedicated Senior Finance Officer to join TDET with a specific focus on the Voyager Academy. You will be required to assist in the provision of financial and transactional support on a daily basis, in line with the Financial Regulations manual as well as support the Senior Finance Manager with financial analysis across all our schools.

The successful candidate will be required to oversee all financial administration including placing requested purchase orders, processing purchase invoices, accounting for cash receipts and analysis of key nominal accounts. The post holder will also have line management for one member of staff. You will work in conjunction with other members of the Trust finance team, whilst also providing support, advice and guidance to budget holders and other members of the Academy staff, with the over-riding aim of ensuring budgetary compliance throughout.


The Person

You will

  • Be a dynamic finance professional.
  • Have high attention to detail to ensure the Academy remains compliant with financial rules.
  • Have the ability to form strong professional relationships with colleagues across the Trust.
  • Be a self-starter able to organise your own workload to ensure strict accounting deadlines are met
  • Have confidence in your ability to implement processes to ensure consistent and accurate financial data
  • Have strong technical knowledge of finance systems.
  • Be able to work to existing, proven, practices whilst at the same time being willing to embrace change when the need arises
